520xi single stage chute rod support

Recommended Posts

Will be picking this up this week. One of the first things I want to fix, besides changing all the fluids and greasing it, is to fab up a proper support for the chute rotation rod. Picture shows the odd way the PO rigged it up. Did some searching and cannot find any data on the support. Looking for a picture of opposite side of the rod to see how it is made to keep the upright position without rotating down. Any drawings or pictures are appreciated.

Maybe you can download the snowblower manual from our manuals section or from Toro.com.  Classic tractors used a support that clipped into the mid hitch.

As pictured, that is a rather poor placement for a crank handle.Itmust be very awkward to have to reach down by your left heel to turn that!

Can the handle be elevated & angled upward? If the front end is straight, a couple of Heim joints spaced a few feet apart may work - providing there is no bind when the snowblower is raised and lowered...

@ri702bill agree on the handle set up location , done a few of those on regular horses , typically  this set up has a COLLECTION OF  ISSUES , NOT ONE , went after  every  , stage , that first swing joint  going to  chute , probably a rusty , cheapo , have used SNO SLIDER  VINYL for a gasket slider  at base of chute , PAM food lube , those blowerers are also a gold mine , for detailing  , specific , chain / cable lube , greatly enhances function . good project , pete

Thanks. There is some data in there that gives me a better idea of how it’s attached. Guess I need to get better at searching the manual files!
