fuzzystump 4 #1 Posted 5 hours ago A 417-A just came up for sale near me…comes with a single stage low chute snow blower and brand new tire chains ( the nice ones with the ice cleats). Has 2,400 hours on it. He says it runs very strong, no issues. No smoke. Pics look nice…appears in decent shape cosmetically …he wants $500 I’d like some input… is that a lot for a Kohler magnum? Should I be worried about the hydro drive? Is about 1-1/2 hours drive from me… so I’d love some thoughts and input. Thanks!
JCM 11,299 #2 Posted 5 hours ago The 417-A is a KT-17 Series and not a Magnum. That is a lot of hours. If it has been babied you may be okay for 500 dollars. Great tractor.
JCM 11,299 #3 Posted 4 hours ago The 417 - A also has the Eaton 1100 series hydro in it. Again, if it was maintained that is a very strong Hydro unit.

Thanks. I’m going to drive out Saturday to take a look. Bringing the trailer just in case. I’m thinking the single stage blower and new chains with the cleats are worth between $200- $300… they’ll fit my 418-A, so at least there’s that. 8ntruck 9,096 #5 Posted 3 hours ago Do a bit of research on KT 17 series 1 vs series 2 engines. The engine serial number should tell you which it is - this is the thing you need to research. The series 2 engines have improved oiling systems and are more desirable.
