The other is your belt problem. I looked back at the PTO posts you had. Your deck spindles, mule drive, and PTO itself need to be checked out. I don't like the looks of the PTO. You don't need to remove the bearing from the clutch housing to service it. Here's a bit on what I did to one. I'm getting excellent service with sealed spindle bearings. I believe I'm on the 5th season with one of my decks with the sealed bearings and I mow a lot. In any case I feel like there must be a bearing/drag issue someplace. You shouldn't be going through belts like that. I may have the stuff you need if replacement is needed. Spindles from a 1979 42" RD, pto housing and mule drive. You're only about an hour and a half west. On another note guys, I know Dino Part 9 is way over do. It's coming. JOEPOE1977 0 #4 Posted 15 hours ago Well I tried to start my 310-8 no luck and no smell of fuel. I am going to replace the carb tomorrow. There is a 90 degree fitting the one end go from the gas line the other end in to the carb. Is there any paste or tape that I have to put on the end which goes into the carb? Just keep in mind that even the tiniest bit of sealant that escapes the joint and enters the carburetor will cause problems.
