Introduction

Hi everyone. My name is Sean. I’m a long time reader on here, first time poster.  I have a kiddo now and find myself with some non-shop downtime- who says both can’t involve tractors?   Long story short, I worked as a small engine tech putting myself through school. My wife owns a farm, and I grew up working on equipment.  Been obsessed with vintage tractors since I got my father’s old 124 Cub Cadet running. Think I was 8. Decided early on I liked machines with a Kohler K series in it. 
 

Only have the one wheel horse; though I’d add more. My favorites are the ‘74-‘77 models.  I own a 77 C-160 8 speed, with a blower, trailer and a work-worn belly mower. All three attachments are on the original invoice.  I purchased the tractor from a family friend who even kept the stickers and brochures from the dealer.  Cool stuff. I’m honored to have it.   
 

I also own a ‘51 Ford 8N (my mule) and a ‘63 or so Original Cub Cadet.  Wish I had begun posting sooner but, gotta start sometime.  Thanks for the warm welcomes I have received so far.

Great introduction,               Looks like you are teaching your son well, he has a firm grip on that wrench. The letter series (ABC) are a good choice, simple to work on and can be outfitted with newer attachments.

Thank you!!  Believe it or not, that’s actually my daughter!   She absolutely loves the tractors.  She’s a little more into the ‘green’ than I’d like….I blame her grandpa!  One of her favorite things to do are watch the hit and miss engines at shows.  It’s to the point where I almost want to get one to split firewood. 
 

I see quite a few C’s in the land of upstate NY where we are.  Lots of 120’s.  I’ve always wanted to try and find a D series from that era, with the twin Kohler in it.  A man can dream!

Here are the Cadet and the ‘51 N - both family items. Lots of vintage power around! 
 

I have the original mower deck for the Cub, however the throw out bearing went on the clutch so, she’s parked for a bit. Kid likes to idle around in 1st gear.  The ford has a Wagner loader I’m working on getting up and going. Steering box bearing just went on me though- so for now the Horse has run of the pasture!

That was the biggest motivator for me to post… I find myself here a lot and wanted to contribute. It’s a great place to be.  Only comparable to a show, where folks are just as nice!

Nice tractors you got there. I’m from upstate NY myself, glad to see someone else in the general area. I only have one WH too, it was my dad’s and throughout the years this forum has helped me ALOT. I plan on adding more someday. We are all glad you’re here, the big show is under 6 hrs away, maybe next year you can make it. Was my first time this year and it’s an awesome event. I believe it’s mostly all original. Been painted, but that’s it to my knowledge.  Previous owner put a lot of hours on it, transmission is pretty warn between reverse and first.
