sqrlgtr 3,217 #1 Posted Friday at 04:50 PM Is this just and extra oil drain plug on bottom of block and has anyone been able to snug it up without taking motor loose from frame. I fixed the drain pipe to block while I had it tore down for some much needed preventive maintenance, But I missed this one. This is on a 520H and it is leaking some but looks like its blowed up with that drop or two of oil dripping and getting blown around
lynnmor 8,891 #2 Posted Friday at 11:57 PM You might be able to sneak a tappet wrench in there. It ain't a big deal to remove two of the engine mounting bolts and loosen the other two to get enough room for a conventional wrench. Now the real question is where did that engine come from, I never saw the extra drain plug.

lynnmor 8,891 #4 Posted 11 hours ago I did see an oil pan that was installed after a connecting rod ventilated it. That was in a Steiner and apparently Onan made universal oil pans for special installations, it had another drain port on the opposite side as well.
sqrlgtr 3,217 #5 Posted 10 hours ago Just checked and both my 520's have this drain on them and Im almost positive neither has been apart. IDK maybe some others will get curious and check there Onan P220. I did take motor mount bolts loose and got a wrench on it but it is tight, it may not be leaking as bad as i thought I forgot about washing it and it may have just been left over oily water .
