Olratlr 25 #1 Posted October 9, 2009 I am about to replace the steering on a D180 and it is almost impossible to get to the 3/8 bolts was wondering if any of you Guys had done this and could I just pull the bracket that holds it on and then take the 3/8 bolts off. Any help is appreciated. :scratchead:
Ian928 46 #2 Posted October 14, 2009 I have done it both ways, I am not sure you can get the steering box and the bracket out of there, but as I remember loosening the bracket made access to the steering box bolts easier. We tried to fix our steering box but it was too far gone. We ended up fitting hydraulic steering from a John Deere 320, and now we can steer with one hand :scratchead:
