eric8 7 #1 Posted 13 hours ago (edited) My 93 520h originally had a Nikki -0479 carb. I bit the bullet and ordered a brand new one directly from Cummins (-0496 model) which is the newest part number and direct replacement for the 0479. There is a round port on the new carb that isn’t cast into the old one. I believe this is the accelerator pump casting, but I was under the impression the 0496 is a non accelerator pump carb. Is there some type of block off plate that needs to go there? Edited 13 hours ago by eric8
eric8 7 #2 Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Upon closer inspection all 3 holes in the accelerator pump cavity are blocked off/blind holes. The bottom right hole looks open, but it’s blocked. Perhaps Nikki has gone to one universal casting. I’m assuming the non emissions carb part #’s have the holes plugged and the emissions spec part #’s get them drilled. This was ordered directly from Cummins. Edited 5 hours ago by eric8
