Phan 64 #1 Posted Monday at 02:50 PM Hi, I want to share the PTO of my 312. The handle and PTO are loose. How can I fix them? They still work well. Pxl 20260508 230235667.Ts.mp4
pfrederi 20,677 #2 Posted Monday at 03:20 PM The PTO is an "Over Center" mechanism. Free play before engagement is normal
peter lena 9,903 #3 Posted Monday at 03:59 PM @Phan initially it looks like the screw on trundle connection is too far rearward , toward dash , battery , lubricate related threading , and screw it forward towards front of tractor and check for response , have a " helper " work the related lever and check for response / effect , numerous related movement areas . what I did to mine many years ago . simple / easy , pete
Sparky-(Admin) 25,584 #4 Posted Monday at 04:34 PM It looks normal, it’s supposed to have some play before the handle rolls over and gains tension.
Ed Kennell 46,239 #5 Posted Monday at 08:39 PM I put a small spring from the hairpin clip to the front of the muffler to keep tension on the lever to prevent the rattling and noise.

peter lena 9,903 #9 Posted 4 hours ago @Phan that entire set up is a detailing , GOLD MINE , for small ,COLLECTIVE IMPROVEMENTS , that forward spring tension pull to lower hitch pin clip , on side of frame , eliminates the linkage buzzing . my first photo of lever start , at battery tray , washers to firm up lever start , also lubricated , starts a very solid / smooth forward , push to pto lever cone . this was all a simple , look and see , check out , have it on my 3 horses , years in , no failures , repetitive failures , show you the way , pete
