Stumps76 0 #1 Posted October 7, 2009 Hi Everyone. I'm a new member here and I was hoping I could get some opinions on the purchase of a wheel horse. I've had a 1975 C-100 for the past 6 years and it's time to look for another rider. I have the opportunity to buy a brand new 2003 419XT Wheel Horse with a 52" deck but I haven't been able to find much information on this model. Does anyone here know much about this model and if there are any major issues to watch out for? I know it should be fine since it's new, but I'm wondering about the reliability down the road. htopjimmy26 3 #2 Posted October 7, 2009 That's a pretty nice modern lawn mower, I've heard good things about that deck and have considered retrofitting it on an older tractor. Bear in mind that that machine has a pretty small transaxle and won't be as durable as your old c series but for lawn mowing I bet it would be fine. refracman 167 #3 Posted October 7, 2009 Dale, I have a 03 417XT and its been good to me so far. It has around 230hrs. I cut bout 2 acres with it and plow a 125ft drive, and during the fall pull the leaf vac. I have had no issues since new and have to say it is a comfortable tractor to drive. If you have lots of trees and dont want a Z its the next best option because of the sharp turing radius. And the kaw under the hood just hums along. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
