Repower L117 Lawn Ranger with Kholar k181

I just aquired a Kholar K181 (needs a rebuild) and I was going to repower my L117 Lawn Ranger with it. I was wondering if there were any major "gotchas" that I need to look for. One that I already see is my fuel tank bracket. I will need to reposition my fuel tank to meet up with the hole in the hood. So, new bracket. Is there one out there already built? The crank shaft is the same size as the  Tecumseh and I have heard the bolt holes line up to mount the engine, so that should be good. Anything else I need to look for?

If you are using electric starter,  you will need a motorcycle battery . That's what I used.

The Tecumseh is mounted in a riser that will need to be removed so the horizontal centerline of the Kohler crankshaft will be the same.

Let us know if the K-181 has a starter / Generator or a geared starter so we can provide you with an easy to follow wiring diagram.

Thanks, oh, I put one to many "1s" in my model# its a L107. The K181 is geared electric start. I don't remember a riser on the frame when I tore it down. Is it welded to the frame? I will keep pulley height in mind as I start looking at it closely. Thanks again for your help.

It is bolted to the frame and the holes are the same as the K-181 oil pan. The wiring diagram should work for you, it uses a 103990 ignition switch. If your engine has a magneto ignition we have a different diagram for that.

Thanks so much. It has been 3+ years since I rebuilt it so I barely remember that riser.
