John c 156 #1 Posted yesterday at 01:48 PM I'm thinking about going with a 2 ply rear tire for my B100 project. my thoughts are the 2 ply should be softer in the sidewalls and may give better contact patch and look. Anybody have any experience to share about 2 ply vs 4 ply. thanks
pfrederi 20,532 #2 Posted yesterday at 01:57 PM many times 2 ply 4 ply are merely a rating. Many 4 ply rated small tires only have two plys when you cut into them 2

Two ply tires are easier to mount, but not as puncture resistant as four ply tires....

953 nut 66,017 #5 Posted 6 hours ago Best bet may be to go to Tractor Supply, Walmart, or any other local store that sells garden tractor tires and touch, feel and caress the tires. BKT and Carlisle are a couple of brands that are good quality if you decide to shop on the internet.
lynnmor 8,823 #6 Posted 4 hours ago Two ply tires will give a much better ride than heavier tires, especially when using chains. I use rubber chains to protect the driveway and went back to the cheap 2 ply original tires, the stiff tires were trying to shake my cab to pieces.
