A friend has an old wheel horse that is supposedly a 1960 model with a 4 hp kohler. K90? The tags are missing so assuming it's 1960, what spark plug should he run in that kohler?

If it has the correct engine for '60 it would be a K91. Only real difference between a K90 and a K91 is the governor setting. 3600 RPMs for a K90 - 4000Rpms for a K91.

Keep in mind this is AI ...

The most direct and commonly used equivalents for the Champion J8C spark plug are the NGK B6S, Autolite 294, and Denso W16S-U. These are standard, 14mm thread, short-reach plugs designed for small, 4-cycle engines, with an approximate heat range equivalent to a 6 or 7 in NGK terms

I crossed the Camp J8 to an Auto 295 with my Napa Prolink account. I believe the 294 is a colder plug

I did find Champion J8C Part Number: 841 with a pre gap of 0.030.  Would these work or should I go with the Autolite 294? Anyone know the best spark plug

gap for the K90/K91's?
