How they were thinking

Interesting to see how Wheel Horse tried to adapt to the changing times.

1968 Charger 9 model 1-7931

1968 Charger 9 model 1-7932

1968 Charger 12 model 1-7231

1968 Commando 6 model 1-4631

1968 Commando 7 model 1-3731 - Export model made in USA with horizontal shaft

1968 Commando 8 model 1-4831

Not obvious until you see them in a list like this.

In 1969 the 4th digit changed from a 3 to a 4. (Add 5 to the 4th digit to get the model year) (A bit later they subtracted 5 from the added -6th digit to get the model year.

Sounds like the "Logic" the kids brought home from school, that they wanted help with. I never figured it out  :scratchead:

In 8th grade, as “New Math” was being introduced, our math teacher was pragmatic--she taught the full-year “old” curriculum for the first term and the full-year “new” curriculum for the second. Acknowledging my eccentricity, I enjoyed it all!
