John c 147 #8 Posted 9 hours ago I want to stay with original design, I never really liked the idea of the electric pump, the diaphragm pump was good enough for kolher I added a primer bulb on my 314 and I'm happy with it so I was planning on a primer bulb since this machine has the tank under the seat. I've seen then now mentioned in other threads, I'll give them a call today, thanks Any pointers on how to remove the check valves, they look like they're staked in place It seems I managed to spend the winter on the marketplace buying retirement projects, the C101 has the most promise and needs the least work. John c 147 #9 Posted 7 hours ago well dang.....I've spent the last hour or so looking at pumps, heck they cost less than an overhaul kit so I may be nearly convinced myself so swap over. Am I right in thinking with the electric pump I won't need a primer bulb ? Greasy Pete, I looked at that carbole brand, looks a bit better than typical China bay-zon offerings did you find one that uses 1/4in lines ? I added the primer bulb gizmo on my C81 - is was difficult to start if it sat unused for a few weeks. I used the open space to the left of the Unidrive dipstick, added a cradle & spring loaded pusher. Works sweet... it is not activated by sitting on the seat. peter lena 9,854 #11 Posted 1 hour ago @JOHN C. think I used 5/16 fuel line , not a big deal , also have a fuel filter just after tank ,and another just before carb . agree with @ri702bill on the shifter boot , like to grease the UNDERSIDE ? prevents hangups , moves better over irregularities , like a heavy tye wrap on the shifter stick , just above boot , makes it live longer . did you drain / flush clean the fuel tank ? drop the fuel valve ? thats easy , new valve and grommets , like a dielectric grease on the grommets , makes all slide points , smooth easy , have not had any fuel issues on my 3 horses . pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
John c 147 #12 Posted 1 hour ago That's slick set up right there. I put one my 314 it sits right behind the engine, The shifter boot is in the mail along with a seal kit for the transmission.
