312 Throttle cable

I bought a new RJ Cable to use as a throttle on my 312, mostly because it already had one on it. I pulled the inner wire out of it to find it bound up so bad I couldn't even push the inner wire thru with both hands. I soaked it all day in a lubricant and I can still barely get it thru with both hands. This is very disappointing.  What a waste of money it was to purchase something that won't work. right out of the box. 

    On a happier note I cut 1.5 acres with it and it did a fantastic job. as I found a way to stablize the RPM's at about 3/4  of the way open. It ran great, used no oil and never missed a lick.

    I still need to find a compatible throttle cable as soon as I can. I don't think new ones are available.  I would need the whole throttle assembly because it is just a open hole on the dash board.

It's absolutely excellent.

Another good source is to place an ad in our own Classifieds. 

 

 

 

Also a good idea is to CALL Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA. He's a very busy Wheelhorse salvage yard and sells new parts as well.

Thanks to "953 nut", I was able to find the proper throttle mechanism at partstree to fit my 312. It was expensive but worth it, because I want my tractor to function as intended. Now all I need to know is what the proper size screws are, that hold the throttle in pace on the dash.  Thank you very much for the "Partstree" suggestion. 

    On another positive note, the Ebay seller issued me a refund on the defective part he sent to me. So far, so good. Tom
