Penguinpizza 0 #1 Posted Tuesday at 03:52 PM Ok so here is the thing I just bought a Toro Wheel Horse GT410 with a Kohler cv460s motor. It will start up but quickly seems to stall out. I replaced the fuel pump, carb, and battery. After replacing the carb I did notice it started better when it did start but didn't last long. Next I'm thinking the vacuum line. Can anyone offer any trouble shooting into what might be so my wife doesn't kill me thank you
ri702bill 11,793 #2 Posted Tuesday at 04:19 PM Welcome! You need to isolate the system that is the problem. Is it fuel or spark related?? A simple inline spark checker ( or 2 when diagnosing a twin cylinder) will help identify if the problem in the spark department. Low cost & good to have... Is the fuel tank cap vent working?? Loosen the cap and try to run it. No cost to try... Is there a fine mesh screen in the shutoff? If there is, they are notorious for severely limiting fuel flow as they get older - particularly if ethanol fuel (a no-no) was used.... Download the manual to see if the OE shutoff had one. Note - IF it was ever replaced - all bets are off & the only way to tell is to replace the shutoff & bushing. Short money...

Only thing I guess I have to ask is where might the shut off be? By the gas tank is what I'm guessing I'll definitely look into those things

Lagersolut 795 #9 Posted 12 hours ago Is the unit on Ethanol ? Ethanol degrades rubber fuel lines, the fine rubber particulates end up in the jets - worked on a K181 a few years ago P O also tried a new carb, the degraded fuel line clogged the new carb up in a short order . After another carb - new fuel line and Ethanol free gas running normal again . Just putting it out there
Retired Wrencher 6,574 #10 Posted 4 hours ago Replace anything that has to do with your fuel supply. If still the same look into all the electrical parts.
