bo dawg 638 #1 Posted April 13 Just got me a 418-8 tonight, been wanting one ever since I got a 418-A couple summers ago. Needs some cleaning up but runs sweet and decent older 48" deck. Of course the paper ID tag is wasted on it. What would be the model number on it? 5

I did acquire a reduction steering system that needs to be cleaned up and installed.
peter lena 9,893 #8 Posted April 13 @Andy N. thank you for the quick response , something I quickly see ? your paint recovery finish stage , done a lot of it , using penetrating oil spray down , let sit a few days or more , then a mineral oiled , clean cloth rub down , usually breaks thru the cloudy grunge , my paints have been brought back with that , finish with a 6 " electric palm buffer , cleaner wax , usually pulls the paint right out , only thing I regularly do is a mineral oil rub down , stays clean and clear , no dust or rust ,https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=paint recovery &quick=1 might try it on an inconspicuous spot for trial . the look of your paint is perfect for this , pete
