Colby G 247 #1 Posted 6 hours ago Hello everybody! 1st post in a while. I recently pulled a project (1960 Suburban 400) off the back burner and decided to get busy with it. I plan on doing a full restoration, and was wondering if anyone had any info. Ill 1st be replacing the entire steering system, mainly the fan gear. Id like to know where I could get parts for this tractor, and any advice would be much appreciated!

Not sure why the rest of the components would need to get replaced (if they're not damaged beyond repair) as the only parts you'll find are used anyway. New bushings can be added in all of those pivot points. How about posting some pics of the machine you're starting with?

No clue how, but I tried welding it temporarily to get decent pics, but I wouldn't trust it
Achto 31,375 #5 Posted 12 minutes ago Welcome back. Would like to see some pics of your project. I'm in the final stages of restoring a 1961 Suburban 401. Here is a link to the build, maybe you'll pick up an idea or two.

One quick tell - A 400 will have throttle & choke levers, a 401 will have push pull throttle & choke knobs. A 401 will also have a removable access plate in the dash area of the hood so that you can get to the spark plug, a 400 will not have this feature.

I will defenetly have to check, I will let you all know if it is or not. Also having a hard time inserting pics into a post
