Morning,

While installing new ignition.. thinking of adding a modern cigarette 12 V outlet such as this one.. anyone use modern one in older dash with good luck?

Sure. Any parts store will have a selection of dash mount. I mounted on the side on the steering tower for a power point. It has a rubber cover when not in use.

That is a good one. Many available will not take a 15 amp load.

Another one I’m looking at is threaded and seems would be easier to secure on tractor. That one is 12V.. as far as the 12 vs 15amp.. how does that compare in terms of charging time such as phone electrical device or cigarette lighter? Is it noticeable difference in time or charge amount? Attached the 12V photo

That sure makes mounting easier but 20 amp is pushing it for 13 gauge wire. You would seldom have a 15 amp load on it if ever.

Here is a weatherproof  one that came from wally w. That I put on my atv to run sprayer and spotlight. Always thought one would be handy on Wheel Horse. If I was going to put one in original hole I would just go back with one that looked and fit like original but thats just me. Just about any auto parts store would have socket that will fit the hole in dash.

So should I go with a different amp rated model? Or your just saying that 20 amps fully used would be a lot for 13 g wire but whatever I run in that socket will never run that many amps?

Have you ever had any issues with socket not having enough amps to power any devices ?
