Chain Harrow

Not exactly a Wheel Horse attachment, but the MF GC1720 I just bought came with a chain harrow.  I've never used one, but I think it will be a useful for maintenance on a gravel driveway.

 

Anybody out there used one of these?

They are a great piece of equipment for final finish before planting. They do tend to plug up easy if you have a lot of trash though (loose grass, leaves, etc)

1- moldboard plow

2- disc harrow

3- drag harrow or chain harrow

4- plant

 

Would also be useful as a finish tool on gravel as you suggested.

There is many uses for a chain drag harrow,  my grandfather would use one to distribute cow manure in fields he temporarily had cows in.

I have the Northern Tool one for smoothing out and planting the junior plow field. Works better than a pallet or bed spring. Real reasonable at the time.  It can be flipped over for the spikes up or down. You can also add sections to it to make it bigger. Kind of a PIA if it gets all tangled up.

The gravel part of my drive my go to is a mid mount on a short frame for tight turning.  If I was a better operator one can even crown the gravel for run off.
