Joshyg 1 #1 Posted yesterday at 09:33 PM Does anyone know why my c145 runs full throttle but dies out a little under halfway
Easton Rich 1,066 #2 Posted yesterday at 09:46 PM Sounds like your carburetor has some dirt or debris in it. I would remove it, soak it in gas and disassemble to inspect and properly clean it.
Joshyg 1 #3 Posted yesterday at 09:48 PM It has a pretty new carb but it could be dirt
pfrederi 20,013 #4 Posted yesterday at 09:50 PM (edited) or a Chinesium carb...some of them do not work well.. Clean it to start with also see if your fuel pump is pumping.... Edited yesterday at 09:51 PM by pfrederi
Joshyg 1 #5 Posted yesterday at 09:52 PM I read somewhere that there was a certain carb that worked really well
Joshyg 1 #6 Posted yesterday at 09:54 PM I need to buy an air filter too
Brockport Bill 2,242 #7 Posted yesterday at 09:59 PM can be debris in tank -- although hopefully your fuel filter catches that -- also if you have not changed fuel hose in awhile you may wish to do so because small fragments that deteriorate from inside fuel line might clog a carb? pfrederi 20,013 #8 Posted yesterday at 10:00 PM You might try running without a filter see if it runs better I doubt you have much dust right now
Joshyg 1 #9 Posted yesterday at 10:03 PM I actually just put new fuel line on it
Joshyg 1 #10 Posted yesterday at 10:09 PM (edited) It currently doesn’t have an air filter Edited yesterday at 10:18 PM by Joshyg
Easton Rich 1,066 #11 Posted yesterday at 10:39 PM I bet it's your new carburetor. They are a 50/50 whether they work or not. @76c12091520h might have a rebuilt one you could purchase

Joshyg 1 #13 Posted yesterday at 11:32 PM Is there any chance it could be my spark plug
953 nut 64,487 #14 Posted 23 hours ago Whenever a new problem comes up you should consider the last thing you changed and be sure it was done correctly. 2 hours ago, Joshyg said: runs full throttle but dies out a little under halfway This is a symptom of poor fuel to air ratio. is the new carburetor mounted tightly with a new gasket? Have you adjusted the high speed and low speed screws as suggested by the supplier?
Joshyg 1 #15 Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Yes. I can get to start in idle by engaging and disengaging the choke so I know the fuel mixture is lean. Could it be the float? Edited 23 hours ago by Joshyg
Easton Rich 1,066 #16 Posted 22 hours ago You'll want to adjust it to richen your air fuel mix. The top needle on your carb is what does this
oliver2-44 11,284 #18 Posted 8 hours ago Just a thought, do you have the old carb? I have had some Chinese carbs that would run full throttle, and idle like crap, others idled good and wouldn't run full throttle
Joshyg 1 #19 Posted 8 hours ago Yeah I have the old carb
Joshyg 1 #20 Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Should I clean the old carb? Edited 7 hours ago by Joshyg
Easton Rich 1,066 #21 Posted 6 hours ago Yes, break it down. There are some good threads on here you could do step by step to rebuild it, or there are some good youtube videos on it I'm sure
