JCM 10,938 #5 Posted March 18 I was going to comment earlier but I'm way too confused. Electric ? Manual ? What the heck are we talking about.

mike avad 60 #7 Posted March 19 And yes it did have a electric clutch on it was for the mower deck . this tractor has a Briggs Stratton engine and it also had a spring to hold it in place so the bracket on the clutch wouldn't turn that my guess and sorry all am new at this maybe I came to the wrong place to get help?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,057 #8 Posted March 19 Can you post a picture of the pto clutch? I am sure someone can answer your questions as this application is different than what we are usually seeing. Usually the electric pto's are used on the Wheel Horse models using an engine with a vertical engine crankshaft so the electric clutch is on the bottom of the engine. Your engine is likely not capable of handling the pressure created by the manual pto so the electric clutch was added which is a good thing. It takes the pressure off the crankshaft bearings.

Thanks for this information. This being a transplanted engine into a Wheel Horse, we will not have manuals. On the electric clutches there must be a restraining device that prevents the clutch housing from moving and pulling on the wiring. I don't believe it matters how this is done as long as the restraining device minimizes the strain and movement of the wiring.
