horseman with no horse 60 #1 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) so im trying to get a bit of performance building done on my vanguard. and apparently there are aluminum rockers available. i was wondering if its possible to convert my pedestal style heads to the stud mounted aluminum? and if not where i can get a set of 16 hp aluminum rocker horizontal heads for cheap? horseman with no horse 60 #2 Posted 4 hours ago my plan was to put a set of 16 hp heads on my 18 to give it a bump in compression. i saw some heads jake was selling but i would like to know if they would fit my 16 hp or my 18 since neither of us have been able to come to a conclusion. but the heads he has are 809200 and 8092001. which the one 809200 show up on my 16 (303447) as the first head but it shows a different part number as the second head? wouldnt they still fit on the 16 since the one head is the same part number. why would they make on set of heads and have a different engine only use one of the two heads? I did some light reading on this Vanguard performance site and it looks like the heads for a 12.5 - 16hp are the same. The 18-23hp heads have a larger combustion chamber. To my understanding it looks like the bolt on application for each is the same. I.E.- use a 16hp head to bump up the compression on an 18-23hp engine. Do some reading to confirm for yourself. May also be a good contact source for any questions that you may have. I would try to get what I could by reading though.
