Gras 5 #1 Posted March 15 Hello I have a problem with my C121. I started by changing the ignition switch because the old one seemed rusted at the electrodes, but it didn't change anything, then I bypassed the 3 safety switches (seat, PRO Interlock and pedal interlock), but still nothing. I now have a doubt about the ignition switch I installed, but I threw away the old one. How can I make sure that the one I put in is the right one? Thanks from France for your help
pfrederi 20,532 #2 Posted March 15 Welcome If your engine has battery Points and coil ignition then one of the spade terminals will have an "I" the other will have S A R B if there is an M terminal you have the wrong switch. Bienvenue Si votre moteur est équipé d'un allumage à rupteur et à bobine, l'une des bornes plates portera la mention « I » et l'autre « S A R B ». Si vous voyez une borne « M », votre commutateur est incorrect.

Easton Rich 1,222 #5 Posted March 15 You'd have a points ignition if you have a stock engine. This is what a coil looks like:

953 nut 66,040 #11 Posted March 16 The AMP METER is sometimes a problem that is easy to overlook. Connect the two wires going to the meter together and see if that will resolve the problem.
Gras 5 #12 Posted March 18 Hi all Thanks to your help, I replaced the ignition switch by 2 simple switches and succeeded to start the engine. I know now that the ignition switch has to be replaced. I'll try to find a new one. Thanks again 1
