C121 Ignition switch

Recommended Posts

Gras

Hello

I have a problem with my C121. I started by changing the ignition switch because the old one seemed rusted at the electrodes, but it didn't change anything, then I bypassed the 3 safety switches (seat, PRO Interlock and pedal interlock), but still nothing. I now have a doubt about the ignition switch I installed, but I threw away the old one. How can I make sure that the one I put in is the right one?

Thanks from France for your help

Welcome

If your engine has battery Points and coil ignition  then one of the spade terminals will have an "I"  the other will have  S A R B   if there is an M terminal you have the wrong switch.

Bienvenue Si votre moteur est équipé d'un allumage à rupteur et à bobine, l'une des bornes plates portera la mention « I » et l'autre « S A R B ». Si vous voyez une borne « M », votre commutateur est incorrect.

You'd have a points ignition if you have a stock engine. This is what a coil looks like:17736096718267276737344048389247.jpg.a4dce5db62cd217ce47edd43607b0008.jpg

Its behind a cover that looks like this on the side of your engine17736105133764926014106481937980.jpg.e00a52b0d0e3ec02a4982b1cb2720da5.jpg

Here is what the points look like:17736105929118237108185987606184.jpg.86f126b75659f261e91fcd58ca24bafa.jpg

They mount under that cover

Click on the picture in this link.

There are small pictures on the page that comes up. Click on one. They show what the back of the switch should look like.

:WRS:

The AMP METER is sometimes a problem that is easy to overlook. Connect the two wires going to the meter together and see if that will resolve the problem.
