Serial Number lookup

Recommended Posts

Lawrenceport horses

Hello, we are farley new to collecting wheel horses we now own over 40. We are trying to figure out away to look them up by the serial numbers instead of the model. Some of ours do not have the model numbers on them due to weather or just not taken care of. We want to get new stickers for all of the ones that need them, but trying to figure out what they are can kind of be a pain. I do have the model list so I can look up the year and motor that way. But I have been searching for what seems like forever for a serial number list. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks, Amanda

Serial numbers were more or less randomly assigned over the years. For the units that you know the model number or name of you can click on "Browse"  then "Manuals" and you will se a grouping of tractors by years. You can click on the age range you are interested in and then the model you have. The model opening page will have a list of serial numbers for that model.

Hope this helps.

Wheel Horse never published serial numbers so many years ago before Red Square I started to record any serials that showed up. Red Square has no way to support a searchable database so added over 10K of them to the individual appropriate files of each model. If you look up a model and see a SN in the title there are serials recorded. If you see a sn there are none.

Post a model name and serial number and will try to determine the model number.

Welcome!

One of the big advantages of owning Wheel Horse tractors is also at times a curse. That is the free interchangability of so many major components over a decade or more. You may have  one or more "Franken Horses" where failed components - engines, transmissions, steering wheels and such got replaced with servicable parts that fit and are not true to the tractor serial number.

This is part of our collection! We have been collecting about 4 months. Every time they find a deal they leave and go get everything they can get..

You've made quite the haul having only done this for 4 months. Some nice machines in there for sure.

I don't think I've seen 40 Wheel Horses in Texas over the 12 years I've been working with them.

Just let me know when you want to send a semi load of them down this way :auto-biker:
