I have not had any failures in ones of either type I installed.  I have gotten tractors with head gasket problems of both types

 

I think the big issue is this area of the block decks. Look at the difference with the rest of the surface.

Could be Squonky. I wire brushed the snot out of that area and seemed to look ok. Would stand to reason that's the area that is likely to leak since the hottest.

Not that I have noticed.  Head bolts loosening up guess it doesn't matter what style.

I'm thinking distortion of the deck from the heat cycles. I picked up a small set of precision parallel blocks I'm anxious to try out on my Power King when I take it apart.

Just 6" long precision ground straight edges. I can lay it across the deck and lookfora low spot.

I meant to update this a couple weeks ago and forgot. 

 

Bills Place did get right back to me. 

They use several mainstream online markets to sell product. 

As anyone who's ever listed on either - the jungle site - or - the popular auction site - (I do not) can tell you... it's a PITA.

All have rules. 

All have limits. 

All have different percentages of net and different shipping policies. 

 

Bills Place uses a pricing software to help with this. It, like anything, has flaws.

Yes, I know. My search was for the head gaskets with a metal ring since not everyone is building the small blocks.
