CLJII 0 #1 Posted 18 hours ago I have this mower with a body in very good condition, but had a frozen 11 horse B & S and about a 25 degree axle lash. I repowered it and am disappointed in the 'grab' that occurs when I engage the clutch. I've never had one of these transmissions apart so am looking to someone with experience. Is there a 'fix' for this problem? Do I replace the trans or just live with it? [The trans is a Peerless 801-028].
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,964 #2 Posted 7 hours ago Is the drive belt completely fabric covered? You are describing what happens when a belt with raw rubber sides is used.
CLJII 0 #3 Posted 2 hours ago When I got the 211-5, there was no belt. I measured for the replacement and purchased a 'standard' V-belt from a local supplier [raw rubber sides]. Didn't know of a 'fabric covered' belt. Will give that a go. Thank you for your prompt response.

Thank you for your prompt response. Often referred to as an Aramid or Kevlar wrapped belt. Usually a buck or two more than the raw rubber sibling.
