My 12hp-8 No Name is same way

Tried firing up the C160 (w/ single stage blower) yesterday and no go.  Gas bleeding out of the air filter housing, so I’m guessing the carb needs some attention - probably the float I suspected wasn’t quite right last time I futzed with the thing but not quite enough - after installing the electric pump.  I don’t know why that would stop it from starting though.  Flooded?  Ran fine a couple of months ago after settling it up for winter.  Any other diagnostic suggestions anybody might have would be most welcome.

The B-80 plowed like a champ, though, even if the snow was piling up faster than it could be pushed out of the way.  Strained a muscle working that plow index control lever a thousand times, too!  Really wanted to use the blower on this, but such is life.

If gas is running out the carb your float valve is stuck open or the electric pump you put on is too High PSI

Give the carb bowl a few sharp raps with a hammer preferably rubber/plastic.

The throttle wide open no choke crank her for a while

take some heat tape for pipes, wrap it around the engine, starter and battery,  hopefully you've already got some 120v in the area for the battery charger, plug the heat tape in and the next time you need it., the battery and the engine should be warm enough to spin right over on a moments notice

My life is always chock full of drama! The problem is the working hours so it doesn't leave enough time for everything else. Plus the older I get, the longer it takes to get $&!t done. Seriously considering retirement.

Thanks. Cables were done over the fall but that doesn't mean there can't be something. Sprayed some WD in there to try and wash it out. The oil thing might be an issue as I can't remember what I had for lunch let alone what weight oil was used when it was changed last. And yeah, that straight 30 gets thick like molasses in freezing temps so now I'm guessing it might be that

John if you decide to retire, you won’t be sorry. But again you can always work part time. This will give you  something to do every day for a few hours and the rest is yours to do whatever you want.

Pretty much over and it sounds like this one found some weakness. My stuff ran okay. The little 2 stroke blower needs and edge and paddles. And the old xi slows a bit when the trans gets hot, (I knew about the trans but not sure if I am going to switch out to another machine or repair)

After the storm.

Warming it up first worked and she fired right up. Ran through 2 tanks of gas. Some of those drifts were pretty high too.

Luckily the neighbor across the street was out there with his loader and also pushed my  3ft + DOT piles to the side for me. The DOT plow piles are always the test of durability on the 2 stage's chain

Yesterday afternoon we fired up 2 tractors and the walk behind snowblower to stack them in better position.

My 78/79 C121 hydro was NOT happy about being awake. Once it started I walked away for a good 15 minutes.

I left the park brake on & hydro belt engaged.

Definitely worth the fuel spent for the smooth running happy tractor.

Eric how much snow did you get?  I had to use the 14 hp blower to get the huge leftover banks form the plow trucks. The blower did short work of it and three neighbors driveway entrance. At lest it was not hard packed snow.

Hard to measure because of the constant light wind.

I believe around 15" ?

On Sunday I plowed just fine with the 416-H. My driveway is only 125 feet long with a mild 1% uphill grade from garage to the road. Under most circumstances I can push snow up to 6" deep. I don't use chains. That was Sunday. When I was finished, the snow and ice wasn't. Come Monday morning there was another 2" of snow, followed by 2" of frozen mix. It was hard enough that my 240 pound didn't make a dent in it. The 416-H would not begin to push it. So I fired up the old Craftsman 24" snow blower. It slowly cut through the frozen mess. Clean up followed with the 416-H.
