Tim Shimp 2 #1 Posted January 9 Hello, I need some help please, does anyone know if a 48'' mower deck part number 78360 off a 1997 520H will fit on a 1991 520H Thank you
ri702bill 11,074 #2 Posted January 9 Welcome! Download the Chart Implement Interchange .pdf File In the Implements Section. It tells what fits what from 1955 to 2000. Not 100% sure, but it most likely fit since both are 520's.

peter lena 9,665 #6 Posted January 10 @Tim Shimp great time to check out , verify , state of condition , and movable function . how easily does the deck spindle assembly move / spin ? related , belt wear will attest to ,BEARING HANG UP , typically lubrication failure , break down . a fuzzy belt is telling you of movement failure , also BELT BOUNCE , TELLS YOU THAT . initial hook up and pto lever engagement , should be easy AND QUIET , no screaming start . good luck with it , pete

When I move the lever to lift the mower deck, it does not go down. Note that I do not have the deck attached when I'm doing this. My question is, does it need the weight of the mower deck for it to go down? sorry if this doesn't make sense. Thank you.
rick 258 #8 Posted January 10 (edited) Without an implement attached, there is not enough weight to move the piston in the hydraulic cylinder down quickly. Edited January 10 by rick Punctuation
WHX?? 54,106 #9 Posted January 11 It still should move tho as it's a double acting cylinder. Means it uses hydraulic pressure to move it up and down. You may have some air in the system. Check the transmission oil level. Having some weight on it may help bleed air. It may also be the transmission might need some warm up time. The charge pump... the part of the transmission that provides high pressure ... often needs to run for abit to get fluid moving. Especially in cold weather. 2
Handy Don 15,685 #10 Posted January 11 Down pressure from that lift is actually stronger than the up pressure because down is extending and lift is retracting.

Or... downward movement is done with the full piston area; upward is similar, but you have to subtract the diameter of the rod from the piston area.
