Keith R 30 #1 Posted Sunday at 03:15 PM Has anyone ever fabricated or considered building steel wheels for there horse. Practically useless but my thoughts were working around thorns and poke brush.
wallfish 18,844 #2 Posted Sunday at 03:23 PM Yes, there's always one on display at the big WH show in PA every year. Have you considered foam filling the tires instead?

Get it done right, by a professional. It is pricey. To the best of my knowledge there is NO long term practical effective DIY foam for tires. (I'd like to be corrected on that.) I put some serious thought and discussion on this back when I was contemplating tires for the Colossus build. We came to the conclusion that steel wheels could offer VERY strong traction especially if/when caught on a root or stone. Cool? Yes. Practical? Absolutely could be.

SylvanLakeWH 30,078 #8 Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM There are a bunch of solid tractor tires on Amazon in a pretty wide range of sizes... pretty reasonable prices too...

LOL Solid or steel wheels could be a bone jarring ride. What about adding a cut tire's tread to the tractor tires? Just spit balling again
