Landen Snyder 2 #1 Posted December 28, 2025 I am helping a friend repair his wheel horse 800 special (Briggs and Stratton magnetron 190434). He bought it from someone who had no business owning one. Anyways I found 3 plugs, one on the front of the engine, one on the right side of the engine, and one on the rear. The fill cap doesn’t have a dipstick. I believe the engine is dry, but I am confused on how I am supposed to check the oil. I will submit photos. photo one (front plug/fill stem) photo two (right side plug) photo three (rear plug) photo four (fill cap) Video (inside of the plugs) 78858210865__C1747FA9-57B4-41FB-A667-091AF1225DFC.MOV
ebinmaine 76,471 #2 Posted December 28, 2025 It's likely the plastic fill plug that shows the "Full" level. It should be filled to the bottom of that hole. 3
Landen Snyder 2 #3 Posted December 28, 2025 Addition- The previous owner ruined all of the wiring, put the wrong ignition switch in, added a solenoid, replaced the fuel tank with the incorrect one, removed all fuel lines including the fuel shut off, stole the gear shifter, and switched the choke and idle cables for incorrect ones.

Moonshine*Connoisseur 498 #9 Posted December 28, 2025 (edited) Engine oil is Sae 30. Not 10w30. Full is when the oil starts to drip over the fill hole. Edited December 28, 2025 by Moonshine*Connoisseur
Handy Don 15,593 #10 Posted December 28, 2025 Just to supplement spot on answers above... Many B&S engines had multiple ports so that at least one each of fill and drain would be accessible when they were mounted for use. The ones with the plastic caps are indeed the “Fill” ports and the ones on the bottom are the drains.
