tmix61 92 #1 Posted 14 hours ago I have to split the case. If I stand it on end and lift half the case up will I lose any parts from this side? As you can see I have a bad bearing need to replace just wondering if anybody could give me any hints. I made a little jig to stand the rear end on one side so I can slide this piece over the axle and off to pop the bearing out I'm just hoping nothing falls out. Maybe somebody could shine some light on this. I do have a new axle seal and a new gasket. I shouldn't have a hard time getting the hub off it's been off not too long ago. It's a 1977

Will anything come dropping out if I pull the shallow side that's the side I need to get the bearing out. I will be having it stand on end.

pfrederi 19,331 #6 Posted 8 hours ago Sorry I wasn't clear the manual says you can take of either side... My personal preference is thick side.

This side is considered the thick side right? And nothing will fall out on me when I lift that up straight off the axle?
pfrederi 19,331 #8 Posted 8 hours ago Yes nothing is suppose to fall out .... but Murphy is always lurking in the back ground Take a look at you parking pawl while you have her open and clean the screen filter

Was going to use some epoxy to glue it back on that little disc that fits mounted on the side of the housing. What should I look for on the parking pawl? Thank you for the advice

You can usually find good ones on ebay - or someone here might be able to hook you up. If that screen comes loose during operation, it's not going to be pretty!

I'm scared now thanks lol
pfrederi 19,331 #12 Posted 7 hours ago Just make sure the teeth on the parking pawl are not ground down... I would be hesitant to rely on epoxy

I think they are crimped but have to look at one to be sure. Also not sure what would have caused it to separate
