groundhog47 444 #1 Posted December 27, 2025 (edited) Sacrilege or not I wanted some new wheels, tires, hubs, and lugs. Put old shoes on my L-156. Edited December 27, 2025 by groundhog47 1

Serious upgrade to the front with the trailer hubs (can't go wrong with the Firestones either), and studs on the back are an outstanding addition. Looks great to me! I prefer a wee bit of off-white to the bright color but those wheels n sneakers look goooood. Nice upgrade.

953 nut 63,782 #5 Posted December 27, 2025 Painting a Wheel Horse GREEN would be a sacrilege, putting new shoes on a fine looking horse is a serious plus. 4

Yes I agree the white is TOO much. The rears were YELLOW (humbug) and fronts factory painted.

There are MANY shades of off-white on the market. It takes a bit of personal preference and experimentation to get your own color set right. My S/O Trina and I both like the very light shade of "off". We use Rust-Oleum 2X Cottage white. I have it on wheels, engines, and other parts of my tractors. There are several other shades in the Rust-Oleum lineup that are darker.
sqrlgtr 2,035 #9 Posted December 27, 2025 here is a pic i think shows a pretty good difference between the rustoleum canvas white and white that Craftsman mowers come withe front wheel is canvas white.

I din't have linen white like factory but sure wasn't gonna keep them yellow. 2

I've used several JD wheels when they would work. No problems there. 1
