Thinking about putting a blade on my 702,but unless there is something I don't know about, the height adjuster is either up or down, nothing in between.

I would like to put a dial a height on it. Is the only way to do that is to use a dash stand from a 1963 or 1964 tractor?? Or will that even work???

Thanks!!!!

My 702 has the lift/height adjuster. I dont have a better/closer pic unfortunately. I just assumed it was original to the tractor.

I can take a pic later, but the part on mine just has a slot at the top and bottom.

I bought this as a roller and no lift, I think it hydraulic lift on it. Would that make a difference??

That would have had a HY-2 lift. It replaces the manual lift arm & bell crank...

The 1963 and later Dial-a-height mechanism has a different bolt pattern than the 2-position style on the 702. Perhaps you have a 753 hood stand??? I also see the horizontal bolt on the hood stand at the bottom. A 702 would not have that - it used the rod-thru-the-sleeve PITA 1961-1962 design. The lift rod mount got redesigned for 1963.

My 701 just has a 2 position up/down notch. I always thought about milling out a few more notches to have a little adjust for up and down just hadn't done cause all I really do with it putt around or maybe pull cart around. Pic below you may have to blow it up to see it.:handgestures-thumbupright:

I have no idea. I dont believe the hood stand has been changed & if it was it happened long time ago cause all the weathering/patina matches?? The lower hood bolt is some kinda replacement. It does thread in like the bottom of hood on my 654. Im certainly no expert & guess I cant complain cause after all it was free!

Nice original looking 701 you have there. Does it still have the Showerhead Muffler??

Picture of what is on mine. I bought this piece and the two piece lift arm with the roll pin.

@ri702bill  Horizontal bolt on the hood stand?? Not sure what you are talking about. Not sure if it has a 753 hood stand. It was like this when I got .

Soooo, what would be the best way to put a dial a height on it?? Different hood stand i presume??

I was talking about @ML3's tractor. But, since you need a manual lift anyway, going to a 753, 754, or 854 hood stand gets you the correct Dial-a-Height gizmo and the easy to install / remove lift handle. (the earlier ones are a PITA to remove - about as bad as a 50 year old steering wheel).

I no longer plow with my FIL's 702 because I need to pick up the blade to skim over the grass - the 854 - no issue, super easy.

@ri702bill it has one but not original but is a Kohler. @Moparfanforever that is the way my 701 is and I do belive they went with the dial in 63.

You would think WH would have a way to adjust the height on your implements with the tractors equipped with that style lift, especially for a front blade.
