Electric PTO to Manual conversion

Recommended Posts

Hump

I have a 2007 GT classic that came with the electric pto, and I would like to convert it to the manual style. I have a 2-stage snow blower, and will have a rear tiller for it soon. I have already had trouble with the electric one, and want to know if it has/can be done, and what I need to complete the conversion.

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

2007....way too new for me :scratchead:

Look up your Kohler motor by spec number at the Kohler site and study the crankshaft bearings. If there are ball bearings no problem. if they are sleeve bearings (aka bushings) then look for a thrust bearing on the PTO end. (Probably a flat needle bearing). No thrust bearing you will have to put on an external bearing as WH did when they used B&S engines

I am sure there will also be linkage and safety switch issues but 2007 is too new for me.
