ebinmaine 77,082 #2 Posted December 5, 2025 If the coil is energized during the start and run positions of the ignition switch that I don't see why this won't work. The only caution I would add here, ground importance can't be overstated. Original Wheel Horse grounds were adequate at best. Just a few years of corrosion... no more ground. If you are using the stock coil with the built-in resistor, fine. If you are using a replacement with a separate external resistor, power it from the key "Run" side at a full 12 volts. Bill D 2,587 #4 Posted January 4 Always run power to the fuel pump from the positive terminal on the coil. This way the pump will shut off if a safety switch is activated that shuts down the engine, for example getting thrown off the tractor. If there is a ballast resistor before the coil, use the line side terminal (the wire coming from the key switch) to ensure full voltage to the pump. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
