Krice58 129 #1 Posted December 4 Top mounting hole in my c160 belt guard is blown out and I can’t find a replacement. Anyone have any tips for repair? Just weld a washer in? Any input would be great. Thanks. I’ll include some pictures of my issue. This isn’t my belt guard in the photos but it’s the same issue.

Get a fairly thin Fender washer with the correct diameter hole. Use something close to the thickness of your existing sheet metal to make the weld easier. Place, cut, trim, form the fender washer and paste it in place. 4
ri702bill 10,549 #3 Posted December 4 Or .... remove the entire top piece with the 2 holes, replace it with thin gage angle mounted from under the inside, Weld, bond, or screw it together.
Ed Kennell 43,720 #4 Posted December 4 (edited) I used a piece of 1/16" thick angle iron cut to the shape of the broken piece. Cut out the damaged part and welded the new part in place. Oops, Bill types faster. Edited December 4 by Ed Kennell

There’s only an eBay store for them now, the main site is shut down and I didn’t see anything on the bay, but I’m sure he has a whole lot more that’s just not listed there yet.

That may be a better solution than welding to the already rusted and damaged metal.

Lincoln is too busy to run a website. Doesn't matter to me where it's posted online. Who hosts. I'll never do anything but use the telephone to get a hold of him.

Always call Lincoln my friend. Website has always been like flippin through the paper at the auto store to find what part you need. If I were a better welder I would attempt the fix. Probably would anyway Best of luck either route!
Horsin'round 341 #12 Posted December 5 There seems to be an abundance of spare parts requiring this repair. I replaced the entire fin with new metal. Layed a big fat ugly bead of weld in the crease, an ground it back slightly concave (the weld). Given the location, it's not really noticeable.
