What would or should I go with? I'm not positive here.... I believe the 8.8 is the "advertised width" of the tire. The 22 should be the wheel diameter. Many (most?) Garden Tractor tires are on a 12" wheel. The middle number is the width. The first number is the outer diameter of the tire. There are a few tires that don't get even remotely close to the actual size with their advertised size. You may very well find that getting two new tires is far easier and less expensive than shopping for usable used ones. So Orginal wheelhouse size tires for my 856 would be 23x6x12? Given I may eventually very well may need both rear tires AND wheels given how rusty they are from the calcium chloride? Filled, is there a certian place new that’s highly recommended for getting the needed Wheelhorse wheels and tires together these days? ri702bill 10,419 #10 Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Calcium chloride is the rim killer over time. Attracts moisture and rots the rims from the inside out.... Rimguard (beet juice) does not. Look at pictures of other 856's - and the IPM parts list to verify the original tire & rim size. Your tractor, your choice. Most folks pick up a pair of used rims and new tires of their choice. sqrlgtr 1,203 #11 Posted 19 hours ago here is couple pics I posted a while back of my 856 on the difference between Deestone and Carlisle tires both 23x8.50x12 on same size rim.
