I have a 416H that I can no longer read the engine model tag on.  Is there a stamp in the block somewhere?

Is it possible to change a B48M over to electronic ignition?  I have a parts P218 here that could donate its timing gear cover.  I'm concerned about getting good points for the B48 and any heat issues from the muffler mounting bracket affecting the points.

I have three P216's.  The latest one has a lot of breather noise.  Is this normal?  My other two are virtual silent.  Engine runs fine.   No smoke and the machine seems to have low hours, though the true hours are unknown.  I mowed with it all summer without issues,  just the noisy breather.

There should be a number stamped on the flat part of the block under the muffler.  In addition to the timing cover and rotor you will need a long key to drive the rotor, I don't know if it is a direct fit.  The breathers have been changed over the years with early ones coming out of a valve cover and later ones from the block, compare what you have.

I put new points in a B43G last year, no issues at all with heat, i did upgrade to a high temp coil to points power wire because its near the manifold but always fires right up
