Mike'sHorseBarn 3,364 #1 Posted yesterday at 01:48 AM I've posted about this thing before. Its leaked ever since I got it due to the hole where the input shaft is being wallowed out. I've done seals may times, but i'm just sick of it making a mess of the tractor. Im thinking about taking it off amd putting a manual lift on, but that almost ruins the tractor. Would anyone have a pump that is in better shape than this one i could swap out? Thoughts on the whole ordeal?? 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ri702bill 10,213 #2 Posted 22 hours ago (edited) I too have a HY-2 that needed a return spring, so I got the whole Kit from Lowell. The shaft seal was correct but did not fit the housing. I contacted him - after measuring it, we agree that the housing seal bore was machined out to be one size larger for the OD of the seal, with the same original ID. I had to source one - it works fine. That may work for you.... The shaft bore on mine looks original, yours may need a bushing... So for what its worth, I asked AI to suggest a product to fill the gap around the outside of a seal in a worn bore and it suggested Locktite 660 as well. My Oliver Backhoe had a hydraulic cylinder top shaft end seal area was pitted. I embedder the seal in a thin film of JB Well. it has lasted 20+years.
