Retired Wrencher 6,262 #1 Posted November 10, 2025 I have this for a while now. And since above post that I made just wondering who made this carburetor would you call this a Kohler or something else? I just never paid attention to who made these. Had it for a couple years now as you can see it’s brand new basically I’ve always had Carter carburetors for the most part and I have a couple now. So let me know if this is a Kohler carb or something else. Thank you. Have a great day.
Achto 30,435 #2 Posted November 10, 2025 I could be wrong but I always thought those were a Carter carb. I also have 1 or 2 of those with the numbers stamped on the mounting flange. The Carter rebuild kit was a direct fit.

I guess time will tell.
Wishin4a416 2,397 #4 Posted November 10, 2025 I could be wrong but I always thought the Carter/Kohler had the high speed jet on top like what is pictured and the Walbro had the jet angled in from the side.

Carters and Kohlers both have high and low speed adjustment screws. The high speed is on top by the throttle shaft. Walbro only has the low speed adjustment on the side. They typically have the name embossed on the side as well. If it has a high speed (second) adjuster, it's lower down just above the bowl.
Treepep 956 #7 Posted November 11, 2025 Dumb question. What does the capital K stamp on the er... choke flap mean! distal versus? Just curious.
