Snowblower bearings

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a source for 101480 bearings?  That’s the number from the parts blowup. The ones I’m replacing are 1630RS, Japanese. Local bearing supply has 1630CD, Chinese. I’d really rather use an SKF or Timken.

They are for the end of the auger on a 06-42ST05 snowthrower.

The letters designate the type of seal which is important in the wet environment of a snowblower.

I ordered two of these the other day for my single stage. They're in the mail to me now.

Yes, the RS is rubber seal but, my understanding is, CD can mean different things depending on manufacturer. Those that were in it have RS as suffix although they are rubber sealed on both sides which, again, my understanding is that should be 2RS.

@JimSraj   realise what I am going to suggest  is a , you can't do that type of thing , reason for this is , consistent , repetitive lubrication failure . have a number of , 6203 ZNL bearings  in my stuff  , also in my  mule drive bearings , regularly  search for a similar bearing with WIDE SIDE GREASE SHIELDS ? small flat pocket screwdriver , or  small flat putty knife , easily removes the side grease shields , wipe out, original lube , carb cleaner  flush out  , repack with  lucas X-TRA, heavy duty grease , 560 deg flash point , polyurea rated, hand repack , reinstall seals , also have this in all my mower deck spindles , related pto cone needle bearings , guess what ?  no whyining   noise , or any related failure , blowers are another , GOLD MINE FOR IMPROVEMENT , attachment , ?  loaded with  hang up areas , specific  chain / cable lubricant , snow slider gasket UNDER  CHUTE BASE  , PAM  cooking lubricant  makes that swing with ease , a specific change out , to a problem , made it just go away  ? thats only me , pete

Your local bearing house should be able to measure that bearing and match it up to an SKF or Timken
