WH B100 PTO switch - Repair

Hello - I appreciate any comments.

The switch was broken - pictures. I am unsure can repair the broken probe (the longer one). 

The link shows a gentleman who inspected his.

Still available from your local Toro dealer but you best sit down before clicking on the link at the bottom. Perhaps you can solder more to what you have. Have had success bending a terminal into an L and slightly shorter than the original. Apply solder to the bottom of the new terminal. Apply a dab of solder to the old terminal. Let everything cool down. Then place the new terminal in position and apply just enough heat for the  solder to connect.

Wow, I made that vid a while ago! Thanks for compliment.

 

I'm with Gary on the solder fix. Really have not much to loose.

 

But

The switch functions with one set of contacts to allow the engine to crank over with the PTO off.

The second set of contacts allows the engine to keep running with the PTO off and operator not in the seat. 

If the ear that is broken is on the seat switch side, that would be better as long as the operator stays seated and the seat sw is closed. I am thinking you can turn the switch so it plugs in the in this orientation and it will at least run and start with the seat switch closed. Clear as mud.

Hi Gwest - Thnak you! Buying is an issue $. I have never done a soder. I am thinking to get a plate metal and make its shape, then sode them like your instructions.

Hello - I'm glad to know who you are! Thanks for the video: Wow, I made that vid a while ago! Thanks for compliment.

I am thinking of rewiring the wires. I should mention that it did not crank or click as I recall (a few years ago before it was parked). Someone did a temporary bypass test, it cranked and started. 

Currently, I don't have the seat with a switch. I took it for another WH. 

 

I am wondering if there are any solutions on how to bypass the wires for me because I don't have a seat switch and the broken PTO switch.
