AHS 1,591 #1 Posted November 4, 2025 New paint, chain, auger bearings and sprockets. New paint… where it counts! So, I’ve put the auger in and tightened up the bolts on the sides and i have a 1/4” of play between the auger and the body. The auger will slide 1/4” in the body. I’ve got the two washers on each side where the auger bearings are. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be this way? Or if the 30 year old snowblower is so outa whack!? This is. What i was talking about, right in my pictures. Also, my top sprocket seems to be slid over.
Racinbob 12,688 #2 Posted November 5, 2025 From your pictures the only real thing I can see is the misalignment in the second shot. I didn't duplicate shots on my blower but there's no side to side play at all. 1/4" is definitely not right. A little modification you might want to add. It does get the snow in the air better. But one thing is always a rule with snow throwers. Whichever way you point the chute, it will be IN TO the wind.

Loose carriage bolts , bent etc. Needs to be checked further.
AHS 1,591 #4 Posted November 5, 2025 Ok, the top sprocket needs to be slid over. I have another 79360 that has play in it.
