74 C120 Sundstrand/ hyd lift

New to me and im gonna plow with it this year!! Let’s hope!! Ok, i bought new hoses for the lift cyl, the furthest line (towards the front of the tractor) is rather short!

Correct way; the line from the front of the tractor goes to the rear of the hyd valve. ( quite a stretch!)

the not correct way?; the line from the front of the tractor to the nearest/closest valve on the tractor. (See the pictures)

In my understanding, the reversal of the two hoses would just reverse the up/down movement of the lever AND NOT hurt the valve?

The reason for this post was; was not hurting the valve!

Up will be down and down will be up. That valve doesn't care where the fluid is being sent. That cylinder is double acting and will respond to pressure applied. Should be fine.

Only way it would matter is if the valve has a float position.
