I've used the magnet mounts. They do well ... but.... the lamps vibrate and slowly fall.

Be aware of the paint being worn where they are.

You guys talked me into it - I already have all my tractors converted to all LED taillights - put the tall chute on the 416 so I took the time to look what needs done - stator is putting out 16-17 volts AC to the lights - going to be easier changing it over to 12 DC than I thought - want to add a rear magnet mount LED spot with a quick disconnect too while I’m

at it .

The video shows the only downsides of the relatively low mounting and flood style--the lifted blade blocking the light and reflecting it back into the operator’s line of sight.

Note, too, that many outdoor LEDs have 6000K+ “daylight" temperature but not the full daylight spectrum. This can make for very bright but “flat” lighting, especially in snow.  Not a deal breaker by any means, but something to consider. (Full spectrum combines LEDs of different colors and phosphor coatings to get the full range.)

The lights are a bit low but I used the mounting for what was a previous light mount. Despite that its still a huge improvement. Overall for $24 it works. There's no reflection or none that I notice or that bothers me back with the blade up since the finish on the blade is dull & weathered. Since its just tractor lighting Im not spending more $$ than I paid for tractor trying to get the optimal lighting on the Kelvin Scale. Now...on the Beechcraft thats a different story. Upgraded all lighting to led Whelen products & it definitely cost me a lot!

The belt is how chute is turned on that model snowblower.

She hates the cold. Before we met she was stationed at the Navy bases in Jacksonville,  FL & San Diego CA so winters here in the snow belt are tough for her to endure.

I feel her pain. The older I get, the less tolerance for cold.

Definitely understandable.

Same. The heat is worse.

I can tolerate cold - with time and conditioning - down to about 15⁰.

Heat however.. not so good. Anything above the low 80s I get super lethargic and need lots of breaks.

I can see your logic and agree on principle.

I do draw a line though.

I have no problem paying more than some other folks would for what I see as quality parts.

It is in reality most certainly just a tractor  - but it's also a very important tool in our particular arsenal.

If the cheap parts break at 3 am when I'm trying to clear the yard to get to work that doesn't help us much.

@ML3  was instantly drawn to that . for me it just makes sense , have always gone after  REPEDITIVE  PROBLEM ISSUES ,  with a  change out , of issue areas . while planning that , its very often , a simple  / easy   change area , like to , stool watch on tractor , so I can eliminate  how / what / where / is  consistently  failing . its also  hiding in PLANE SIGHT  , on my 3 horses ,  problem areas are what you want , look original , yet  work / move with  simple / solid  smoothness . gold mine areas , for  improvement , PTO LEVER START . side of battery tray , heim joint  on end to  pto bearing cone , eliminate  trundle , mower decks  is everything  on original intent , bearing lubrication failure  , and belt bounce , oil proofing the  underside , eliminating the  , grass hold areas . choke / throttle cables , all have a spring pull assist  , to close ?  spring  helps movement  ,on any action , super lube hydraulic  oil  , smooh , pete
