Old Black Betty has been ready since yr 1973

Looks like we are going to finally get something that’s plowable , hopefully not ice.

Even added a little extra weight to the tool box.:laughing-rofl:

Hopefully we can get some on Saturday. They are calling for 12-18 inches on Saturday thru Sunday. We'll see!

Latest model has us at 12-18 but it has been changing daily because we are so far out.Have to wait and see I guess. Our last big one was Snomageddon in 2010. 27 inches and power loss for 8 days. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

If that came true we would end up with about 15, 16 inches around my house

We are almost ready for this next storm, so I'm sure it will be a dud.

Brought the tractors into the new shop to work on them tonight. The 855 is ready except for a little fuel, and the chains could be tighter.

We put the blower on the Commando but I'm struggling with the belt again. Routing is always and issue, but the belt it in very bad shape, and I'm not 100% sure it's the right length. Correct length is 56.5, per the manual page, I think this is stretched.

I'm actually thinking of trying to go to a 59 or 59.5 and see if I can get it to operate from the tractor's foot control rather than the hand operated rod on the blower.

Amazingly, with no assist spring, my 12 year old was able to lift the blower and lock the implement arm. But I had to go pick the unit up by hand for him to get it unlocked again.

I'm just a few miles  Northwest of you - so far this year only used the the tractor with a blade - I was kind of  hoping the 416 with the tall chute sat in the back of the garage on a tender all winter -  I think its time to chain it up and add the weight

The weather weenies are notoriously inaccurate when to come to predicting precipitation amounts...However in the last few years they are getting pretty close to predicting temperatures,  So I am pretty sure it is going to be cold as a witches t*****

They're saying 15-18" here in he Poconos. I'll take double that in snow vs. 1/2" of ice. Lived through one ice storm (Rochester, NY area) and that was enough! No power for days and a week of tree & limb clean-up. If you're in the ice path double down on you're prep. Other than that Let It Snow!

The forecast here is anything from two inches of slush to eighteen inches of snow. In the mountains a lot depends on the direction the wind is coming from and which side of the mountain you are on.

Freezing rain bringing down power lines is our worst fear and that seems to be the most prevalent prediction. A lot of our local electrical distribution right of way cross deep valleys and goes up steep mountain sides.

Here they calling for Rain, Ice, Sleet, maybe a Flake or two of Snow mixed in, about 1 1/2".

We lost power for a week back in 2002 Ice storm.

Yes. But as you all can well imagine I do that on a fairly regular basis anyway just for kicks.

Yesterday morning around 4:00 the prediction was for a dusting or less up here.

Several hours later the forecast changed pretty dramatically. Obviously this big beast of a storm has decided to head north and see what we would do with it.

Depending on who you ask I have now seen feasible forecasts all the way from 6 inches up to 24.

Think I’m finally ready. Just waiting on a pair of chain tensioners for the plow tractor. Young guns of my heard on snow duty this year. First time using the blower. The belt was bad so I had to replace that. Bring it on.
