Retired Wrencher 6,219 #1 Posted October 22, 2025 I pick this up on EBay for about $30. I using it on the 64 engine I have because it has no A-C-R. Should help for cold start ups. Also I hate changing oil for winter the to summer use. It has a magnetic base. Should fit or work between the frame rails. It heats up right away goes to 200° should work nicely heating up the oil.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,893 #2 Posted October 22, 2025 Have one similar and it was a failure. The metal bars in the center are the magnets and on mine they are loose. I suspect they can stick to uneven surfaces since they are independent of each other. Problem is the surrounding hot area of the heater does not make engine contact so no heat transfer. The heater is hanging on the magnets. I added a 12" strip of wood to the back of the heater with an eye on each end. Now a bungee cord over the engine keeps the hot area up tight to the oil pan and works. Just something to watch out for. 3
squonk 44,992 #3 Posted October 22, 2025 I use those all the time on my Power King loader hyd tank. Warms them up fine with no mods.

I have a deep oil pan so it fits right on the pan itself by the PTO. So time will tell if this actually works for 30 dollars it was worth a shot. Thanks for the post. Hi Mike, that’s good info there. So what is the actual time to warm it up about an hour? I kept feeling it for about 45 minutes in a pan. Got nice and warm. Thanks for the post. Made out of 1/4" box tubing so a lot of area to heat. I use 2 heaters. How cold is it where the tractor is kept? My garage is insulated but I don't leave the shop heat on. Typically it get's down to 20° outside and if a storm is predicted I will plug them in a day ahead of time. Usually the metal is quite warm. If it gets below 0 before a storm, I'll turn the shop furnace on and let it run all night.

Looking at one of these and it appears to be about the same physical size but says it goes up to 400*. Do y'all think that would be too hot to place on oil pan like above? Can you report on your experince since purchase @Retired Wrencher.

I've used those heaters for years on my Power King hydraulic tank. Never a problem with them getting too hot

None of mine get in the hours to fill out an OCI in a given season, so this gets them two oil changes a year.

We’ve got a few cold mornings and without that I got a brand new battery heavy duty. It takes a lot to start it but with the heater it starts up normally that’s my two cents. Have a good day.
