Here is the current state of mine.  I am waiting on a few more parts to show up for the switch to points ignition and it's currently draining out the gallons of water that was in the transaxle.  I had a fight getting the left rear wheel off last night, it was rusted on the hub.  I got the front tires cleaned up and painted tonight and new tires should be here Wednesday for them.  I am not going to spend any more money on it until I know that the engine is good.

I am new to these old tractors.  I just have this 69 Raider 12 and a 68 Sears Suburban 12 that I thought I was finished with but now is waiting on me to get this thing running so that I can do a motor swap on it to a Predator 13hp.

It’s got the HH120 in it and it smokes a lot.  I’m sure it needs at least rings but I am also having some issues with the starter/generator on it.  It charges, but not much and sometimes struggles to turn the engine over.

Gotcha...

S/G likely an easy fix but the smoking engine ......

Good call to paint the dash white, I like that look.  I have new front tires showing up tomorrow so I took the old ones off today to paint the wheels.  That turned out to be quite a battle and there was a lot of rust under the tubes that were in it.  I wire wheeled them and use some rust killer paint on them.  I am hoping that my tires seal up ok and I don't have to run tubes.  I guess we will see tomorrow.

tubes

I use tubes in everything except possibly a brand new wheel and tire installation.

They're easier to get the bead seated.

FYI. We do not have any sort of aggressive thorns like some areas do.
